In 1905, Charles Beckman founded the Red Wing Shoe Company in Red Wing, Minnesota. As a shoe store owner, he quickly noticed the need for comfortable and durable footwear. Using high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship, he began creating boots as tough as the people wearing them. This footwear was designed for those performing heavy physical labour and had to withstand even the most extreme conditions. Word of the quality and comfort of every pair spread rapidly. Within a decade of its founding, the company was producing over 200,000 pairs a year and became a primary footwear supplier for American soldiers during both World Wars.

A GUARANTEE OF DURABILITY

RED WING constantly sought solutions to better meet the true needs of its customers. One of the manufacturer's greatest achievements was the introduction of synthetic materials in sole production, which significantly reduced costs and extended the lifespan of the footwear. While this is common practice today, RED WING was the first to implement it.

In 1924, the "Moc-toe" construction was introduced, later becoming a signature detail of the brand. The wider front provided more room for the toes, making the boots more comfortable for long hours of wear or standing at work. The sturdy construction also guaranteed better resistance. This model quickly became popular among farmers and hunters who spent most of their day outdoors, often in challenging weather conditions. Later, steel toe caps were added to the design, quickly becoming a major advantage for workers in heavy industry.

RED WING boots are made from the highest quality leather, sourced from the company's own tannery, the S.B. Foot Tanning Company. Hides, obtained as a natural by-product of the American food industry, are transformed here into a durable material of impeccable quality. At every stage of production, the boots are tested to ensure their durability and resistance to various weather conditions.
