Black Leather Derby Shoes 3011

Berwick 1707 shoes are crafted from premium calf leather; with proper care, they will maintain their shape and refined appearance for many years. Regularly clean the surface with a soft brush and apply Saphir creams or waxes to keep the leather supple and protected from the elements. We highly recommend using wooden shoe trees after each wear to preserve the shoe's structure. For further care advice, please contact us or visit us in-store.

BERWICK 1707 – THE SPIRIT OF A HERO, EMBODIED IN FOOTWEAR

The Berwick brand was established in 1991, named after the Duke of Berwick, a key figure in the Battle of Almansa in 1707 during the War of the Spanish Succession. Named in honour of a hero who remains the pride of Almansa’s residents, BERWICK 1707 continues to showcase Spanish craftsmanship, meeting the expectations of even the most discerning wearer.

A CENTURIES-OLD GOODYEAR WELTED CONSTRUCTION

BERWICK 1707 footwear is manufactured in Almansa, Spain, using the sole-stitching technique patented by Charles Goodyear Jr. nearly 150 years ago. By introducing a sewing machine capable of stitching the upper and sole with speed and precision, the inventor revolutionised the footwear industry. Previously, soles were stitched exclusively by hand - a time-consuming process that could not always guarantee consistent quality. This technology not only optimised the production process but also enhanced the shoes' properties and significantly extended their lifespan.

Invented centuries ago, the Goodyear Welted technique is still regarded as one of the most professional and durable methods in shoemaking. This is why BERWICK 1707 shoes offer excellent thermal insulation, protection from uneven surfaces, and exceptional structural integrity and comfort.

PREMIUM LEATHER – THE BERWICK 1707 ADVANTAGE

The manufacturer selects only the finest leathers available on the market, sourced from renowned tanneries in France, England, Italy, Spain, and America. The various leather components are cut both by hand, requiring immense precision, and through modern technology. This high-grade leather guarantees longevity, retaining its shape and suppleness over the years.

ECO-CONSCIOUS FOOTWEAR

The manufacturer places great importance on environmental protection and sustainability. All components are produced in-house, allowing for strict control over every production stage in compliance with European Union quality and environmental standards. Furthermore, BERWICK 1707 utilises vegetable-tanned leather. This means no harsh chemicals are used in the tanning process, making the leather healthier for the feet and kinder to the environment.
